This past month, I've been conducting a survey on the Quality of Life in America for a book I'm writing. It's sad, but 83% think things are getting worse and 90% view the performance of Congress as fair or poor. (To see all the results, go to my home page on this website.) I personally rated the quality of life in America as excellent. I feel blessed to live here and count my blessings every day. I have a roof over my head, clothes to wear, and food to eat every day. I have the love of God, my wife, my family, and many friends like you. I just laughed the other day when I was waiting on Debbie (my wife) at the grocery store and noticed one of the grocers stocking the butter shelves. There were at least 25 different kinds of butter on the shelf and I wondered why we needed so many different kinds. I know many people in the world would be happy with one, or to have a grocery store at all. No question, we are extremely blessed in America, in spite of all the challenges we face. I have faith that the same American ingenuity and courage that saw us through the American Revolution, the abolition of slavery, two World Wars and the Great Depression will get us through this time as well. Some things may have to change in order for us to do that, but there is nothing in the world stronger than the American spirit when tested. We proved that again most recently on 9-11. Yes, we have much to be thankful for this holiday season. I don't know about you, but I'm proud to be an American!
Make it an EXCELLENT week and an EXCELLENT holiday season!
